No Depression has been a mainstay in the world of roots music, ranging from alternative to americana. Consistantly on top magazine lists (music and beyond) we can honestly say we're fans.
So of course we couldn't be happier that our very own JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound got a great review this week on their full length "Want More." Amongst many great soul comparisons, Grant Britt goes on to say "calling this music neo- soul is an insult. There nothing neo about it – it's the real thing. Think of it as re- introduction of a classic art form, updated with reverence, love and most importantly, feeling." We couldn't agree more Grant.

Mannequin Men Record Release Show + Addenda Weekend
The week after Thanksgiving is never pretty for most of us. It means a full week back to work, school, or whatever you happen to do to earn your rent and record buying money (hey, we don't judge.) So, to combat the 'week after the Holiday blues' we have a full weekend lineup of Addenda shows to help you work off that extra plate of Turkey and cheer up!
On FRIDAY December 2nd there are TWO Addenda bands playing. Head over to one show, or try and catch both. Either way you won't regret it.

-longtime favorites, Hollows, play w/Crystal Stilts at the Empty Bottle
Then on SATURDAY December 3rd we have the long awaited official Mannequin Men Record Release show at The Hideout w/ psych rockers Vee Dee and comedy guest Nicolas Rouley. They'll have the BEER colored vinyl copies of the record for sale so make sure to stop by. And hey, who can resist such a cool poster by Chicago legend Ryan Duggan.
Mannequin Men Get "Nuttin' For Christmas" on AV Club
Who doesn't love the Holiday season? It's that time of year again and along with the cold weather and snow comes presents! Well we've got one for you today. Mannequin Men recently went to the AV Club Chicago studios to perform the 50's classic, "I'm Gettin' Nuttin' for Christmas."
We highly suggest you check it out on the AV Club website and hey, music does make the best gift after all, so pick up a Mannequin Men beer colored record from our store while you still can!
Summer Girlfriends Featured on Chicago Mixtape
Everyone knows we are huge fans of tapes in any form (digital included.) This week our newest Addenda addition, Summer Girlfriends, are featured on Chicago Mixtape's 40th mix intitled "Over the Hill."

New Website Launch + Mannequin Men on MTV Hive
Welcome to the new face of AddendaRecords.com, brought to you by awesome folks over at http://lovehasnologic.com/.
In addition to the general face lift, the site has undergone some pretty huge improvements, including: cross populated shopping carts (between plustapes.com and addendarecords.com) and digital downloads available of our entire catalog (at $1 less than iTunes...hey a buck's a buck right?!)
